From the small towns of Brockville and Kingston respectively, Rebecca and Peter’s paths crossed long before they had met.
They both come from a performing arts background and had gone to university for their creative passions. Before Rebecca and Peter had met, it was during their academic period where Rebecca went to see a performance at Queen’s University where Peter happened to be playing the lead role.
Years later, they found themselves working for a theatre in Toronto, which is where they met and the rest was history.
Peter loves how encouraging Rebecca is about his passions and how involved she gets in learning about the things he loves. Peter recently has gotten into magnet fishing, which is essentially fishing for metal. It consists of attaching a super-strong magnet on one end of a fishing line to attract metallic artifacts in bodies of water. How interesting is that! I hope they catch gold one day.
Rebecca loves Peter’s sense of humour and how he can make her laugh and feel happy even in very difficult times. Especially during the year of COVID with unexpected events, it was Peter who knew how and when to uplift Rebecca with funny impressions and witty responses. If she’s having a bad day, he just knows what to say even if it’s poking fun at her or him. Let me just say his Beauty and the Beast impersonations of Gaston and LeFou are spot on.
Rebecca still performs to this day and Peter keeps the creative juices alive by singing in the car.
The couple has visited Enniskillen Conservation Area before so it was a no-brainer to capture their connection in the beauty of nature found here. Here are some of my favourite photographs from their engagement session!
